FAQs

What does "tree-free" mean?
Every other diaper sold in the US uses tree pulp for the white pad in the center of the diaper. Even the ones that claimed to be "bamboo" diapers use tree pulp for 40%+ of the diaper, which we think is deceptive. Our diapers are the only ones that use certified organic bamboo pulp for the diaper core. Not only is bamboo drier, which makes our diapers perform better; bamboo regrows in 60 days (vs 20+ years to regrow the 1B+ trees cut down for the diaper industry).

Are your diapers biodegradable?
No, they are 88% biodegradable but there are some non-biodegradable elements, which is true of all disposable diapers today, unfortunately. We feel better about this than most because we offset 100%+ of the plastics used in our diapers and our business through the Plastic Credit Exchange. In fact, buying our diapers saves trees AND removes plastic from the environment by paying fair wages to families to remove plastic trash from the world's beaches and waterways. Our manufacturing facility is also solar-powered, and it recycles its own wastewater. So we're doing what we can, and we'll keep doing more as we learn and invent better ways to protect our kids' future.

Isn't bamboo processing bad?
No, not for bamboo pulp. There are some issues with turning bamboo fibers into rayon used for bamboo clothing, but we don't use rayon in our diapers; we use 100% certified organic bamboo pulp. And we don't use bleach or carbon disulfide, which is the nasty stuff that can pollute waterways (all of the water used in our manufacturing facility is recycled anyway).
